Abstract

This artcile details the history of Aboriginal people in Australia from a communist perspective, arguing that prior to European invasion there existed a state of "primative communism" in Australia. It traces the failure of British law to protect Aborigines. It then argues that missionaries, bourgeois scientists, and administrators have failed in attempts to protect Aborigines as they are part of the capitalist state; and then posits the working class as the ally of Aboriginal people.
