Title
Aborigines Advancement League Newsletter 25, 1969
Imprint
Aborigines Advancement League (Vic), Melbourne, October 1969
Abstract

This newsletter details the influence which international struggles have had for local Aboriginal activists. It touches on the visits of Leo Hannet from Bougainville, Dr. Roosevelt Brown, chairman of the Caribbean and Latin American district of the World Black Power Movement, a group of nuns from India, Albert Maori Kiki, secretary of the Pangu Pati in New Guinea and member of the Legislative Assembly.

It discusses Dr Brown's visit and the idea of Black Power in some detail, putting the position that the "Aborigines Advancement League supports the principle of black power, without necessarily condoning all the ways by which it expresses itself in various parts of the world, or indeed, in Australia".
