- American Atrocities in Vietnam
- Vietnam Action Committee, Sydney, 1966
N.d, circa mid-1966.
Norden’s article, published by Robert Gould (convenor of the Vietnam Action Committee in Sydney) as a reprint from the February 1966 issue of the U.S magazine ‘Liberation’, caused a furore when first sold in Victoria. The Victorian State (Bolte) government banned the booklet.
The Communist Party’s International Bookshop in Elizabeth Street was raided and copies of the publication were confiscated. Some activists, who defied the ban to sell the booklet on city streets, risked having their names taken. The booklet was printed by Southwood Press, a firm owned by leading Sydney Trotskyists Roger Barnes and Sylvia Hale.
