This statement was produced by the Communist Party of Australia gay collective in March 1981. The statement questions the upcoming Socilaism and Homosexuality Conference held in Melbourne on April 25th-26th 1981. The statement highlights concerns for the conference being 'oriented too narrowly towards the organised left' and questions whether it should be the main focus, as they believe it reflects a very narrow definition of what is political and socialist.
