Radicalesbians

Summary

- Established in 1973 in Melbourne when activists came together from Womens Liberation and Gay Liberation.

- Radicalesbians was formed by a group of women who had studied women's liberation in London and who wanted to create a more radical group in Australia, as Gay Liberation was not living up to its hopes and claims.

- 'The radicalesbian struggle was for a genderless society, one that did not differentiate on the basis of sex and which allowed people to relate to each other as people, rather than through their social and gender roles.'
